Welcome back to a new blogpost, this time I will review my at the moment most favorite eyeshadow palette – theBalm NUDE’tude. A really lovely product I purchased during my holiday in Italy as this brand doesn’t retail in Germany.
So let’s get started!
TheBalm NUDE’tude (33.50€ for 12 eyeshadows)
First things first – theBalm has the cutest and prettiest retro packaging I’ve ever seen and I love their creative and funny names. I need to get my hands on more of their products, especially the eyeshadow palettes and the lipsticks!
Considering the packaging, the palette is protected by an additional cartboard packaging which makes it super easy to transport and for traveling. The palette as well is made of cartboard, contains a large mirror and closes magnetically. As the name kinda says, this palette features nude women only covered by different eyeshadows.
It holds 12 eyeshadows ranging from white over nude, rose shades to (darker) browns and black and a dual-ended eyeshadow brush (I have to admit, I don’t use it…). Let’s take a closer look at these:
Sassy – A frosted white, very good pigmentation and ideal for highlighting the inner corners of your eyes
Stubborn – a peachy shade also with a frosted finish, slightly less pigmentation than in the palette because of the finish
Selfish – a dark brown-grey mixture, also a frosted finish but with good pigmentation
Snobby – a medium yellow with warm undertones and a golden frost finish with great pigmentation
Stand-offish – a light brown/ nude shade with a huge frozen or even metallic finish and thus a great color pay-off
Sultry – a medium brown with warm undertones and a matte finish, really good pigmentation and also perfect for the crease
Sophisticated – a dark, warm brown with bronzing glitter inside, perfect for in the crease
Sexy – a matte, burgunder red also perfect for defining the crease with a really good pigmentation
Serious – a matte black shade that has a good pigmentation but tends to be a little dusty
Seductive – a golden/ bronzed brown with a satin finish with a good color pay-off
Silly – a darker brown-reddish shade with glitter, tends to be semi-opaque in coverage and needs to be applied several times to make the glitter visible
Sleek – an intense dark brown/ black shade with a matte finish that gets a little dusty
Overall, the pigmentation of nearly all the shades is really good, they have mostly opaque coverage after one application however the matte shades tend to be more semi-opaque and need to be applied several times. Also most shades feel rather creamy and soft when applying without being dusty – except for the matte ones… Still, all shades are pretty easy to blend and harmonize perfectly together. This palette is rather warm toned and with more shimmering, frosted and glittery shades than mattes. I really love it because it can create various eye looks as the color variation is amazing!
